Broad Oak Manor has 25 private bedrooms available for residents, many of which are ensuite. Every room is well-equipped, tastefully furnished and decorated, and can be adapted to suit you.
In the rest of the manor house, you will find several reception rooms, including the dining room and lounge. And, looking serenely out onto our landscaped gardens and courtyard, is the well-stocked library, complete with piano. Not only this, but you will have full access to our Grade II listed barn conversion where there is a full range of activities and events to take part in, as well as simply a space to relax in and spend time with friends and family.
Facilities and Services
Whether you are looking for short-term care or a place to stay into the future, at Broad Oak Manor, we deliver first-class care that is flexible and tailored entirely to you through regular assessment of your health and needs.
In addition to long-term nursing care, we provide short-term respite care and, in association with Clinical Nurse Specialists from Isabel Hospice we can also deliver the highest standards of palliative care.
And, if you should become hospitalised or experience a period of illness, our team can provide you with an intensive rehabilitation programme to support you in your return home or your transition into long-term care.
GP cover at Broad Oak Manor is provided by the Wallace House Surgery, with the doctors making weekly rounds, as well as additional visits when required. Broad Oak Manor is only 6 miles away from the QEII Hospital in Welwyn Garden City should a hospital admission be necessary, and emergency medical care is available 24-hours per day.
In addition, a mobile dental surgery can provide treatment for all dental needs in-house, visiting opticians provide all residents with an annual eye test, and a chiropodist visits the centre every six weeks.
We have a physiotherapist available when required and our care staff can assist patients with their exercises as part of a personalised programme.
Broad Oak Manor provide a range of other services to help with everyday living.
Hairdressers – a local hairdresser regularly visits Broad Oak Manor and other beauty therapies can also be provided.
Laundry – In addition to providing all linen and towels, the staff at Broad Oak Manor will collect, wash, dry and iron all personal laundry apart from handwashing.
Telephone – all bedrooms are equipped with telephones and you will have your own personal telephone number from which to make and receive calls.
Maintenance – Broad Oak Manor has a routine maintenance programme in place for the home. But we will additionally help you to make adjustments to your room to help you feel more at home, for example, hanging pictures or moving furniture.
Special aids – Staff at Broad Oak Manor can provide you with advice regarding specialist equipment, such as zimmer frames, raised toilet seats and wheelchairs, as well as arranging for these to be provided to you.
Our menu is prepared by our talented chef Raymond who has over 15 years’ experience. You can enjoy his delicious and balanced dishes in the dining room or in our restaurant. We can also cater for family events and celebrations in the barn on request.
At Broad Oak Manor, you can continue to pursue your interests and perhaps pick up a few new ones with our busy activities calendar. Whether it’s something relaxing, like flower arranging or knitting, or getting active in a gentle exercise class, there is always something to get involved in. You can take part in group activities or do things individually. Plus, any of our staff will happily spend one-to-one time with you.
